Do you often find it hard to make
time for God? I know I do. We have an
entire universe of distractions at our disposal to come between us and
God. Now perhaps it’s easier to choose
time with God over something as trivial as, say, video games or reading a blog.
But what about things that are actually important?

Sit down...have a drink...take a moment...take your lifetime...and think...
Thinking is good. One of the most obvious and important distinctions God put in place between us as mankind and all other life on this world is the ability to reason. I want to put my thoughts out in order to, hopefully, get you thinking, and perhaps even get your own thoughts. Be aware that I love debate, and if you want to intelligently discuss differences in thought, be they great or small, I would love to hear it! By no means do I know everything...but I seek to know and understand as much as I can...

Dying to Live
Why
don’t you kill yourself? That’s not a
rhetorical question; ask yourself that with every intention of answering. What is stopping you from taking your own
life? Life is full of pain, and some
would even say that life is
pain. If that is indeed the case, and if
we follow our natural instinct to escape pain, would it not logically follow
that the best way to do so would be to escape life? So what’s stopping you?

46 Days of Easter
Isn’t
it weird seeing Christmas decorations in October? We chalk it down to pure and simple
commercialism most of the time. But the
reason for that is because there is a hype—a build-up—for Christmas. We look forward to it the whole year, and the
anticipation builds all the more as fall comes to an end and winter
approaches. For Christians, Christmas is
truly important, as it our day to celebrate the advent of Jesus Christ. So where’s the hype for Easter?

Prison Break!
Do you ever feel like you just
can’t express yourself and no one understands you? Like you’re all alone? Like your spirit has a will of its own, but
the body is weak? Like you’re completely caged up? Plato knew just how you
feel.
Thousands of years ago, Plato,
the Philosopher King, did not like his body. Nor anyone else’s for that
matter. According to Plato, the
inner-self, the real person, was
trapped in and cursed with a physical body prone to illness, injury, and all
sorts of degrading wants and temptations.
He believed the only escape from this horrid cage was death, which would
finally grant the soul true freedom.

Apologising for Apologetics
Have you ever found yourself stumped after someone
challenges your faith? You’ve reasoned
and quoted till your brain feels tied in a knot and the other guy seems like
he’s barely breaking an intellectual sweat.
You just want to shove “The Bible says so!” down their throat and make
all their science and logic go away.
Well, there is good news for you: Apologetics!

Artificial Sweetener
Have you ever had anything so sickeningly sweet that the
sweetness lost its sweetness? Of course
when I say this, we think immediately of food; though the principle is
applicable in many areas. Take for
instance the film industry, particularly regarding Christmas.

It's the End of the World!
“Repent!
The end of the world is nigh! Doom, death, and destruction are at hand!” I’m sure you can easily picture the
dishevelled ‘prophet’ on the streets downtown with his message sharpied onto
his cardboard sign, preaching of the coming judgement and destruction. Imagine if you saw him, but as you came
closer, you notice how calm he is. How
his message doesn’t look scribbled and frantic, but instead reads more like the
cover of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the
Galaxy, written in large, friendly letters: “DON’T PANIC.”

Lost and Found: A Cause to Celebrate
Have you ever lost
your wallet? Your phone? It can be quite distressing realising that one’s place for keeping money, ID, photos, means of
communication, etc. are nowhere to be found on one’s person. When one is
reunited with their lost property after double-checking pockets or
back-tracking, there is a tremendous sense of excitement and relief. This is
because we value such things. The same principle applies in church.

One Nation Under God
We
like to say of our country that we are “one nation under God” and “in God we
trust.” But does our nation believe that? Are we
really in a Christian nation? When we
look around ourselves, we have to answer ‘no.’ So how do we become a Christian
nation once again?
